Cognition of Quran (6)

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ بِجَمِیعِ مَحَامِدِه کُلِّهَا عَلَی جَمِیعِ نِعَمِهِ کُلِّهَا اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ مالِکِ الْمُلْکِ مُجْرِی الْفُلْکِ مُسَخِّرِ الرِّیاحِ فالِقِ الاْصْباحِ دَیّانِ الدّینِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمینَ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ عَلی حِلْمِهِ بَعْدَ عِلمِهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ عَلی عَفْوِهِ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ عَلی طُولِ اَناتِهِ فی غَضَبِهِ وَهُوَ قادِرٌ عَلی ما یُریدُ

ثم الصلاه و السلام علی محمد عبده و رسوله ارسله بالهدی و دین الحق لیظهره علی الدین کله و لو کره المشرکون

اوصیکم عبادالله و نفسی بتقوی الله و اتباع امره و نهیه، و اخوفکم من عقابه.

The role of the Prophet in compiling the Quran

 

In past sessions, we said that the previous prophets received the content of the divine message through revelation, and then communicated that message to the people by their words. Therefore, the literature of the books of the former prophets was not the same, and it depended on the literary taste of the Prophet who compiled the book. So no miracles were in those books, and there were no such a thing as Tahhadi. But it was different for the Prophet of Islam, he had a harder duty, which should have given the same words and divine words to humans, which has been interpreted as "the word of Allah". God says in the Quran:

«وَإِنْ أَحَدٌ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِکِینَ اسْتَجَارَکَ فَأَجِرْهُ حَتَّی یَسْمَعَ کَلَامَ اللَّه (توبه:6)

 And if anyone of the polytheists asks you for protection, give him protection so that he may hear the Word of God

Quranic verses indicate that the role of the Prophet in revelation is only in their intermediary, which receives the message of God and reaches it to  sumans, and this, of course, plays a crucial role. There are two verses in this field 

 

Verses that attribute the revelation and transference of the Quran only to God

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَیْکَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنزِیلا(انسان: 23)

It is We who sent down the Quran upon you—a gradual revelation.

 

 Verses that the Prophet (pbuh) proclaims as the only recipient of revelation

وَ إِنَّکَ لَتُلَقَّی الْقُرْآنَ مِن لَّدُنْ حَکِیم عَلِیم (نمل: 6)

You are receiving the Quran from an All-Wise, All-Knowing.

 

The human experience shows that reporting the content of the word and the so-called "quoting the meaning" is easier than reporting the same words and phrases of the speaker. Therefore, the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his disciples, were allowed to speak their words. This is why the words of the Prophet or Imam have been narrated in different contexts in narratives, such as the famous narration of Thaqalyn from Prophet Muhammad during the months of the end of his life, narrated in some ways with a little difference

الا ایُّهَا النّاسُ! فَاِنَّما انَا بَشَر یُوشَکُ انْ یَاْتِیَ رَسُولُ رَبّی فاُجیبَ، وَانَا تارِک فِیکُمْ ثِقْلَیْن: اوَّلُهُما کِتابَ اللهِ فِیهِ الْهُدی وَالنُّور، فَخُذُوا بِکتابِ اللهِ وَ اسْتَمْسکُوا به» فحثّ علی کتاب الله ورغّب فیه ثمّ قال: «وَ اهل بَیْتی، اذکّرکُمُ الله فِی اهْل بَیْتِی، اذکّرکُمُ الله فی اهْل بَیْتی، اذکّرکُمُ الله فی اهل بَیْتی.

“To proceed: O people, I am only human, and soon the messenger of my Lord will come to me and I will respond. I am leaving among you two weighty things, the first of which is the Book of Allah in which is guidance and light. Follow the Book of Allah and hold fast to it.” And he encouraged us to adhere to the Book of Allah, then he said: “And the people of my household, I remind you of Allah with regard to the people of my household, I remind you of Allah with regard to the people of my household, I remind you of Allah with regard to the people of my household.”

  اِنّی تارِک فِیکُمُ ما اِنْ تَمَسّکْتمْ بِهِ لَنْ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدِی، أحدهُما اعْظَمُ مِنَ الاخُر: کِتابَ الله حَبل مَمْدُود مِنَ السَّماءِ اِلَی الارْضِ، وَ عِتْرَتِی اهْلَ بَیْتِی، لَنْ یَفْتَرِقا حَتّی یَرِدا عَلَیَّ الْحَوض، فَانْظُروُا کَیْفَ تَخْلِفُونِی فِیها

“I am leaving among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray after I am gone, and one of the two is greater than the other: the Book of Allah, which is a rope extended from heaven to earth, and my family, the people of my household (ahl bayti). These two will never be separated until they come to me at the Cistern, so watch how you deal with them after I am gone.

The Prophet was worried that he would be forgotten and mistaken in transposing the same words and words of the word of God, so he rushed to pass it on to the scribes of revelation, which God assured him:

  وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يُقْضَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُ ۖ وَقُلْ رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا (طه:114)

Do not be hasty with the Quran before its inspiration to you is concluded, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ؛ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ؛ فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ (قیامه: 16-18)

Do not wag your tongue with it, to hurry on with it. Upon Us is its collection and its recitation. Then, when We have recited it, follow its recitation.

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰ (اعلی:6)

We will make you read, so do not forget.

Features of the Prophet

: Some of the attributes of the Prophet Muhammad as the last prophet of Allah, according to the verses of the Holy Qur'an, are

 

(1) The Pattern of Prophet Mohammad 


  لَقَدْ کانَ لَکمْ فی رسول الله أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ (احزاب: 21)

You have an excellent example in the Messenger of God

 

(2) Kindness

 

لَقَدْ جاءَکمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ أَنْفُسِکمْ عَزیزٌ عَلَیهِ ما عَنِتُّمْ حَریصٌ عَلَیکمْ بِالْمُؤْمِنینَ رَؤُفٌ رَحیمٌ (توبه:128)

There has come to you a messenger from among yourselves, concerned over your suffering, anxious over you. Towards the believers, he is compassionate and merciful.

 

فَبِما رَحْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ لِنْتَ لَهُمْ وَ لَوْ کنْتَ فَظًّا غَلیظَ الْقَلْبِ لاَنْفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِک (آل عمران: 159)

It is by of grace from God that you were gentle with them. Had you been harsh, hardhearted, they would have dispersed from around you.

 

(3) Interest and compassion towards the guidance of humans

 

فَلَعَلَّک باخِعٌ نَفْسَک عَلی آثارِهِمْ إِنْ لَمْ یؤْمِنُوا بِهذَا الْحَدیثِ أَسَفاً (کهف:6)

Perhaps you may destroy yourself with grief, chasing after them, if they do not believe in this information
